Classification of non-woven fabrics

1、 Spunlaced non-woven fabric

The spunlace process involves spraying high-pressure micro water onto one or more layers of fiber mesh, causing the fibers to intertwine and strengthen the mesh to a certain degree of strength.

Features: Flexible entanglement, does not affect the original characteristics of the fibers, and does not damage the fibers; The appearance is closer to traditional textiles; High strength and low fuzzing; High moisture absorption and fast moisture absorption; Soft feel and good drapability; The appearance pattern is variable; But the production process is long and the land occupation is large; Complex equipment and high water quality requirements; High energy consumption.

Product applications: surgical gowns, surgical masks, medical dressing materials, aviation cleaning cloths, clothing lining substrates, coating substrates, disposable materials, advanced cleaning cloths for instruments and meters, advanced cleaning cloths for the electronic industry, towels, makeup cotton, wipes, mask covering materials, etc.

2、 Heat bonded non-woven fabric

Hot bonded non-woven fabric refers to the addition of fibrous or powdered hot melt bonding reinforcement materials to the fiber mesh, which is then heated, melted, and cooled to form a fabric.

Features: The surface of surface bonding hot rolling is relatively smooth, while the point bonding hot rolling is relatively fluffy.

Product application: Production of baby diapers and women's sanitary napkins covering materials, ointment base cloth, adhesive tape base cloth ABD pad covering materials, clothing lining, masks, etc.

3、 Pulp air flow net forming non-woven fabric

Airflow net forming non-woven fabric is also known as dust-free paper or dry papermaking non-woven fabric. It uses airflow mesh forming technology to loosen the wood pulp fiberboard into a single fiber state, and then uses airflow method to aggregate the fibers onto the mesh curtain, and the fiber mesh is reinforced into a cloth.

Features: Good fluffiness, soft feel, superior wet strength and wear resistance to paper, and super strong moisture absorption performance.

Product application: Medical hygiene materials, especially high water absorbent disposable hygiene products (such as diapers, sanitary pads, wet facial wipes, wipes, etc.).

4、 Wet non-woven fabric

Wet non-woven fabric is a process where fiber raw materials placed in a water medium are loosened into single fibers, and different fiber raw materials are mixed to form a fiber suspension slurry. The suspension slurry is transported to a mesh forming mechanism, and the fibers are formed into a mesh in the wet state and then reinforced into a fabric.

Features: High production speed; Can fully utilize short fibers; The fiber mesh of the product has good uniformity; But the water consumption is high and the one-time investment is high.

Product application: special paper: dust/liquid filter paper, tea bags; Industrial use: filters, insulation materials, sound-absorbing materials; Medical use: medical backing, medical tape, surgical wrapping materials; Civil use: wallpaper, etc.

5、 Spunbonded non-woven fabric

Spunbonded non-woven fabric is a continuous filament formed by extrusion and stretching of a polymer, which is laid into a web. The web is then self bonded, thermally bonded, chemically bonded, or mechanically reinforced to form a non-woven fabric.

Features: The fiber mesh is composed of continuous filaments; Strong tensile strength. There are many technological changes and various reinforcement methods. Wide range of filament size variation; But the feel is poor and the uniformity of the fiber mesh is poor.

Product Application: Polypropylene (PP): Geotextile, tufted carpet base fabric, coating base fabric, medical materials, and packaging materials for disposable products. Polyester (PET): Filter materials, lining materials, tufted carpet substrates, agricultural materials, packaging materials, etc.

6、 Melt blown non-woven fabric

The process of melt blown non-woven fabric: polymer feeding - melt extrusion - fiber formation - fiber cooling - mesh formation - reinforcement into fabric.

Features: Good uniformity of fiber mesh and soft touch; Good filtration and liquid absorption performance; Poor fiber mesh strength.

Product applications: filter materials, medical and health materials, clothing materials, battery separator materials, and wiping materials.

7、 Needled non-woven fabric

Needled non-woven fabric is a type of dry process non-woven fabric, which uses the puncture effect of a needle to reinforce the fluffy fiber mesh into a fabric.

Features: Does not affect the original characteristics of the fiber; Flexible entanglement between fibers, with good dimensional stability and elasticity; Good permeability and filtration performance; Full and fluffy feel; Various collection patterns or three-dimensional formed products can be manufactured according to requirements.

8、 Sewn non-woven fabric

Stitching non-woven fabric is a type of dry process non-woven fabric, which uses warp knitted coil structure to reinforce fiber mesh, yarn layer, non-woven materials (such as plastic sheets, plastic thin metal foil, etc.) or their combination to make non-woven fabric.
